Jodhpur : The Indian Air Force’s mega multilateral exercise Tarang Shakti: 2024 was formally inaugurated at Jodhpur Air Force Station on Friday evening. Air forces of eight countries including the Indian Air Force are participating in this exercise which will continue till September 14. 17 countries have arrived as observers.
In the inaugural ceremony, Vice Chief of the Indian Air Force Air Marshal AP Singh handed over the war exercise badge and cap to the chiefs of the air force teams of all the countries. In the next 15 days, fighter aircraft of the air forces of India, the USA, Australia, Japan, Greece, UAE, Singapore and Sri Lanka will carry out more than 600 shots in the skies of Jodhpur, under which the fighter aircraft will carry out events like Within Visual Range and Beyond Visual Range combat missions, large force engagement, air mobility and lawlight operations, dynamic targeting, air to air refueling missions, combat search and rescue.

Addressing the air warriors of other countries in the inaugural program, Air Marshal AP Singh said that we all humans are the same. We have the same blood, we think the same. Our concerns are also the same. This war exercise is also like learning from each other and understanding each other’s culture. Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari, Chief of the South Western Air Command of the Indian Air Force also addressed.
Air chiefs of all seven countries will arrive on 11 September
In the program, Commander of Tarang Shakti Yudh Abhyas Air Commodore SK Talian gave briefing about the Yudh Abhyas to the Air Force of all the countries. He said that the Air Force of all the 8 countries will work together on ground and in air under different strategies. 7th September has been kept as Public Day. On 8th September, Air Force personnel of foreign countries will be taken on a tour of Jodhpur. Air Chiefs of all the 7 countries will come on 11th September. Defense Expo has been kept on 12th and 14th. 17 observer countries including Argentina, Botswana, Egypt, Italy, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia will be able to participate in the next Yudh Abhyas. It is worth noting that this is the second phase of Tarang Shakti Yudh Abhyas. The first phase of Tarang Shakti Yudh Abhyas was held from 6th to 14th August at Sulur Air Force Station in Tamil Nadu, in which most of the European countries Britain, France, Germany and Spain participated.
