Now from September 1, 68 lakh families in Rajasthan will also get gas cylinder for Rs 450

Jaipur : From September 1, domestic gas cylinder will be available in Rajasthan for Rs 450. Currently, more than one crore 7 lakh 35 thousand families are included in the NFSA list. Out of the NFSA families, about 37 lakh families are also included in the list of BPL or Ujjwala connection holders. The remaining 68 lakh families who are only in the NFSA list will also be able to get cheap cylinders now.

68 lakh more families will get benefit

In the budget, the government has announced to provide LPG cylinders at Rs 450 to NFSA families along with BPL and Ujjwal connection holders. This decision of the government will now benefit about 68 lakh families. This will put a burden of about Rs 200 crore on the government’s financial treasury.

This scheme started from 1 January 2024

During the Rajasthan assembly elections, the Bharatiya Janata Party had promised to give gas cylinders to poor families for Rs 450. Under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, people used to get gas cylinders for Rs 600 from the central government. On which the Rajasthan government started giving gas cylinders for Rs 450 by giving a separate subsidy of Rs 150. After this, when the BJP government was formed in the state, Chief Minister Bhajan Lal also announced to give cylinders for Rs 450 from January 1, 2024.
