Jaipur : Jaipur The wait for generating electricity from waste is now about to end. This month, electricity will be generated on a trial basis and next year the production of electricity from waste will start regularly. 15 MW electricity will be generated every day. On Friday, MoU for Waste to Energy Project was signed at Heritage Corporation Headquarters. It was signed by Heritage Corporation Commissioner Arun Kumar Hasija and representatives of Jindal Urban Waste Management Limited. The company will invest approximately Rs 350 crore on the Waste to Energy project. For this, a loan of Rs 192 crore will also be available from Power Finance Corporation Limited of the Government of India.
At the same time, after the commencement of the plant, Jindal Group will give Rs 66 per ton to Heritage Corporation. In such a situation, Heritage Corporation will get a monthly revenue of around Rs 20 lakh. To operate the plant, the corporation will have to give one thousand tonnes of garbage every day.
With the commencement of operation of the plant, the corporation will also get royalty. The corporation will get revenue of Rs 20 lakh per month from selling garbage. This MoU is expected to end the mountains of garbage being generated in the capital Jaipur. Mountains of garbage are being formed in Langadiyawas, Mathuradaspura and Sevapura of the capital. The mountains are expected to disappear once the process of generating electricity from waste begins.

Acting Mayor Kusum Yadav said that no file has come to me. The MOU that has been signed is not in my knowledge. At the same time, the Commissioner says that there was a phone conversation with the Mayor regarding this matter.
