Jaipur : Railway Board is now engaged in connecting Kotputli, Salasar, Tonk, Chaksu to the rail network. Along with this, preparations are also underway for doubling of many lines including Chaumu – Samod, Ringas – Sikar-Luharu from Jaipur. Railways have started a survey for these facilities. It is almost certain that these will be included in the upcoming railway budget.
Railways is engaged in strengthening the rail network in Rajasthan. Under this, Railways will lay new lines in 862 km. Apart from these, doubling of 1441 km rail lines is proposed. Railway officials said that apart from these, coach depots are also proposed to be built in Khatipura (Jaipur), Bhatton ki Gali, Umra and Lalgarh (Bikaner). Preparations are underway to build freight terminals in Hirnoda (Phulera), Dhankya, Birdhwal and Nawalgarh.
Apart from these, a network of ring railways will be laid in Jaipur on the lines of ring roads. This project has been named Jaipur Orbital Rail Corridor. It will be 70 km long. North Western Railway has prepared the blueprint of this project. Recently, a meeting was held between the officials of North Western Railway and the Chief Minister. In this, the demand for land acquisition was also made.
Business tourism will also get wings
There has been a demand for a railway line between Salasar and Khatushyam for many years. Lakhs of people travel here every year. Kotputli and Tonk will also be connected to the rail network. Doubling of lines will give speed. People will get facilities from the terminal station and freight terminal. Both tourism and business will get wings. CPRO of North Western Railway Captain Shashi Kiran says that a survey is going on for the new railway project. Its report will be sent to the board and then the future blueprint will be prepared.
