Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma fulfilled this requirement by passing The Rajasthan Prohibition of Unlawful Conversion of Religion Bill 2024 in the cabinet.
Words like secularism not in the original preamble
MP Ghanshyam Tiwari further said that India is the only such country in the world. Where despite having more than 80 percent Hindu population, it has a reputation as a secular country. There were no words like secularism and socialism in the original preamble of the Indian Constitution, but these words were added by the previous governments by the 42nd amendment to the Constitution. Wherever in India, people of Sanatan and Hindu religions are in majority, there people of all religions can People have full right to conduct their own conduct and perform their worship, but where Hindus and Sanatani are in minority, there is a problem. Along with this, there was a strong need for a law to prevent more conversions in the future.
There will be 10 years jail for religious conversion
The MP further said that a provision has been made in this bill that if someone gets someone converted by using greed, allurement, fear, fraud, force or undue influence, then strict legal action will be taken against him. Apart from this, if someone converts someone’s religion in the name of Love-Jihad, in the name of love, for the sake of marriage or by cheating, then he will also be punished with imprisonment of up to 10 years. In this, along with the individual, the institution is also included.
