Kota : There is good news for the students studying in Commerce College located in Talwandi, Kota. Now books can be obtained from the college library within five minutes through bar coding. The work of library automation in the college has been completed by the team of Jaipur’s software company Suman Info. College in-charge Hitendra Kumar Gupta said that Libsoft Library Management software has been installed in the college library. More than 23 thousand books have been entered in it. Two bar code stickers have been put on each book. With this, the name of the book, author, publication, location and other information will be revealed as soon as the bar code is scanned to issue books to the students. On searching the book in either Hindi or English language, the software will send an SMS to the students on their mobile.
2 thousand books will be written off
The college incharge told that there are old books in the library. There are 8 thousand old books here. Out of these, 2 thousand will be kept separately. They will be given when there is demand. Librarian Sunil Kumar told that there are books of Hindi, English and Commerce in the library. In history, books of great men, former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh, former President APJ Abdul Kalam and other authors are available. There are also books of BBA which was earlier run in the college. However, currently BBA course is not run in the college.
Students will get master card
The librarian said that instead of I card, library card, book issue card, students will be issued only one card i.e. master card. When students come to the library, entry in the visitor register will be done through bar code. It will be easy to do nodues, physical verification, member history, book history and other tasks through software. It will be convenient for students to do automation. Please note that the libraries of JDB and Government College have already been automated.
