Jaipur : West Central Railway is doing new innovations every day, along with increasing passenger facilities, full attention is also being paid to safety. Along with this, the inclusion of new technology is making the operation of trains easier, time is being saved, passengers are getting benefited and the department along with the railway employees is also setting new dimensions. This time West Central Railway has done the work of increasing the safety speed of the train by installing a thick web switch. Earlier, the manual track was changed through this switch, but now the employee will change the track while sitting in the office and the train will continue to run smoothly. The switch is installed where there is a place to change the track. The train track can be changed even at a speed of 160, and where earlier the passengers used to get jolts in the train, that too will not happen.
State-of-the-art technology is being used
The work of installing thick web switch point machines is going on at a fast pace in all three divisions. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager and Public Relations Officer Kota Rohit Malviya said that for the purpose of expanding the facilities of the railways, the engineering department is using the latest technology. Due to modern technology, rail safety is increasing and the journey of passengers is also becoming easier.
Machine installation work is being done at a fast pace
In West Central Railway, the speed is being gradually increased by using new technology in various rail sections. To increase the speed in the rail sections, the works are being executed on time under the guidance of General Manager Shobhana Bandopadhyay. Under which the work of installing thick web switch point machines on all three divisions is being done at a fast pace. This work is being done with the collective efforts of the Engineering, Signal and Telecommunication, Operations and Electrical Department of the Railways.
Trains gained speed after installing 105 thick web switches
In the first quarter of the current financial year from April to June, West Central Railway has installed 106 thick web switches in various railway yards and turn out locations. Talking about Jabalpur division of West Central Railway, 84 thick web switches have been installed here. Whereas 06 thick web switches have been installed in Bhopal division and 16 thick web switches have been installed in Kota division in the railway line and further work is being done continuously.
So many thick web switches were installed in June
If we talk about the month of June alone, 29 thick web switches have been installed, in which 12 thick web switches have been installed in Jabalpur division, 04 thick web switches in Bhopal division and 13 thick web switches in Kota division in the railway line. In the last financial year, a total of 305 thick web switches have been installed in West Central Railway.
Trains will be taken up to 130 km per hour
After installing thick web switches, trains will be taken to a speed of 130 km per hour. Malviya said that after installing thick web switches, the speed of trains will also increase along with their safety. Turnouts are installed on the tracks to change the direction of trains. Till now, traditional switches were used in them. But now the work of installing thick web switches is going on at a fast pace. The main objective of installing thick web switches is to take the speed of trains to 130 km per hour, which can be increased to 160 km per hour in future. Apart from this, the speed of trains in the loop line will also increase from 30 km per hour to 50 km per hour. Apart from this, the use of new technology during the operation of trains will also reduce vibrations.
Turnout related failures are negligible due to use of new technology
Thick web switch not only strengthens the safety of the track but also increases its life. Along with this, with the use of this new technology, turnout related failures are almost negligible. The maintenance cost on this is less than before. The estimated speed on the track can be increased and the modern system of thick web switch is very reliable as compared to normal points.
