Jaipur : the hopes of the youth looking for their future in politics have been dashed. The Rajasthan Government has not yet conducted the Student Union Election this year as well. The students who were preparing for the elections for the last three years have suffered the most due to the non-conduction of the Student Union Election. These youth were out of the race even before climbing the first step of politics. On one hand, this has failed the plan to make a career in politics. On the other hand, these students have also suffered a financial setback.

20 to 25 lakhs invested in three years

In preparation for elections in Rajasthan University, more than 50 students spent 20 to 25 lakh rupees in three years on candidature. These youths spent a lot of money on protests, rallies, events, vehicles and help for students. Due to no elections for two consecutive years, the students have now become overage.

The university has lost its charm

The enthusiasm that was seen during the admission in the university in July has now disappeared. During the admission, student leaders had set up counters at various places. A team of youth leaders was working to help the students. Student issues were being raised. Dharnas and demonstrations were started every day but now that the talk of elections is over, the enthusiasm has disappeared.

Elections were banned nine times in 21 years

Talking about student union elections in Rajasthan University, elections have been banned nine times since 2003. After the student union elections in 2004, the ban was imposed for the longest period of five years. After this, student union elections started in 2010. Elections were held continuously till 2018. But after this, elections were stopped for two years again. Student union elections were held in 2022. After this, the ban has been imposed till now.

NSUI and ABVP expressed displeasure

NSUI state president Vinod Jakhar says that student union elections give an opportunity to the youth leadership to emerge. By stopping it, the leadership and political understanding of the youth is being weakened. Youth also want to make their career in politics. If they do not get a chance, then the youth will not be interested in this field. At the same time, ABVP central executive member Bharat Bhushan Yadav says that student union elections are called the first step of politics. But by repeatedly stopping elections, the opportunities available in this field are being eliminated. If youth come into politics with good thinking, then changes will also be seen.
