Jaipur : Vehicle owners will have to get high security number plate installed to drive old vehicles on the road in Rajasthan. For which the Transport Department has extended the date of application. Applications for high security number plate to be installed in vehicles can now be made till August 10. Action will be taken against vehicles without high security number plate from August 11. Earlier, the Transport Department had given the last chance to such drivers till July 31. The department has extended the date of application for the second time. Let us tell you that the Transport Department had started the application process for online number plate from December 2023, which had to be applied by June 30. After this, the department had given time till July 31. But still only more than 7 lakh vehicles have number plates. In such a situation, the date has been extended by 10 more days.
The department will have ease in monitoring
The Transport Department believes that installing high security number plates will help in developing an intelligent transport system. This will make monitoring through e-challan, pollution, insurance and GPS systems easy. Tracing of suspicious vehicles will also become easy.
Vehicle thieves can be caught soon
Along with this, it will also provide the facility of tracing the location in real time. High security number plates are laser coated. Its safe lock cannot be opened. It can be removed only after breaking it. In such a situation, if the vehicle is stolen and the thieves drive or sell the vehicle by putting fake number plates, they will be caught.
