Dholpur : Anyone can get accident insurance of up to 15 lakhs by depositing Rs 749 in the postal department. To avail the benefits of the scheme, the beneficiary must have an account with Indian Postal Bank. In the last two months, more than 98 people have got themselves insured under it. Under this insurance plan, on death of the insured in any accident, snake bite, electric shock, falling on the floor or in a car accident, the nominee will be given Rs 15 lakhs, on permanent disability Rs 15 lakhs, on accidental death of the insured, he will be given a benefit of Rs 1 lakh under child education benefit for a maximum of two children.
India Post Payment Bank, Dholpur’s branch manager Shekhar Bhatia told that the Indian Postal Department has now launched several cover plans for the safety of the people. In which a group accident insurance scheme has been started. The account holders of India Post Payment Bank of the Postal Department can take advantage of this scheme. In three different categories, with an annual premium of Rs 320, one will get the benefit of accident insurance of Rs 5 lakh, Rs 10 lakh for Rs 549 and Rs 15 lakh for Rs 749. The cover will start from the first day of insurance.
This will be the age for accident insurance
To avail this insurance, the age of the policyholder should be at least 18 years to more than 65 years. For this, the policyholder will have to pay the prescribed policy premium every year through Indian Post Payment Bank. Under the Group Accident Insurance Scheme, insurance of Rs. 15 lakhs can be availed by paying a premium of Rs. 749. One can avail the benefits of this scheme through Aadhar Card and PAN Card. Under this, on being admitted to the hospital, Rs. 1000 per day for 30 days, Rs. 60,000 for IPD, Rs. 30,000 for OPD which includes pharmacy, diagnostic and 10 physical consultations in a year, Rs. 1 lakh in case of bone fracture or coma in an accident and on death, Rs. 25,000 as immediate sympathetic meeting amount and Rs. 5,000 for last rites will be given.
