NSUI’s victory in DUSU elections after almost a decade, Congress said the beginning of change

New Delhi, November 25 (IANS). The results of Delhi University Students Union (DUSU) elections have come. Voting was held for a total of four seats here. Out of these, NSUI has won the post of President and Joint Secretary. Whereas the posts of Vice President and Secretary have been won by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) candidates.

Raunak Khatri of NSUI has won the post of President. Raunak Khatri got a total of 20,207 votes, while his nearest rival and Vidyarthi Parishad candidate Rishabh Chaudhary got only 18,868 votes. Bhanu Pratap of Student Council won the post of Vice President. He got 24,166 votes. Vidyarthi Parishad candidate Mritravrinda won the post of secretary. He got 16,703 votes. Lokesh Chaudhary of NSUI won the post of Joint Secretary. Lokesh Chaudhary got 21,975 votes.

Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad had nominated Rishabh Choudhary for the post of President, Bhanu Pratap Singh for the post of Vice President, Mitravinda Karnawal for the post of Secretary and Aman Kapasia for the post of Co-Secretary in the DUSU elections. Of these, Bhanu Pratap and Mitravinda were successful in winning the elections. NSUI had made Raunak Khatri its candidate for the post of President in the student union elections. Yash Nandal was the NSUI candidate for the post of Vice President. NSUI had fielded Namrata Jeff for the post of secretary and Lokesh Chaudhary was the candidate for joint secretary. Of these, Raunak was successful in winning the election for the post of President and Lokesh Chaudhary for the post of Joint Secretary.

According to Delhi University administration, the counting of votes took place under the surveillance of CCTV cameras. Voting for DUSU elections took place on 27 September. There were a total of 145,893 voters. Of these, 51,300 students had voted. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Devendra Yadav, on winning the post of President and Co-Secretary of the Congress student organization, said that the story of change in Delhi has begun. He congratulated Raunak Khatri, who won the post of President in the Delhi University Students Union elections, and Lokesh Chaudhary, who won the post of Co-Secretary.

Devendra Yadav said that Raunak Khatri of NSUI has been elected as the President of DUSU by defeating ABVP who has been holding the position of the President of Delhi University Students Union for the last 10 years. Lokesh Chaudhary has deposited his coin on the post of Co-Secretary and has shown that the youth is the life and identity of Delhi Congress. Yadav said that this victory of Delhi NSUI in DUSU elections will prove to be a milestone for Congress.
