On the lines of Wagah border, now there will be a retreat ceremony on the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan

Jaipur : Almost every person who goes to Amritsar for a trip definitely visits Wagah Border once. Watching the Retreat Ceremony held every evening at Wagah Border gives birth to a different spirit of patriotism. Every year lakhs of people from India and abroad come to see the Amritsar Retreat Ceremony. In fact, in the 40-minute ceremony, Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force (BSF) soldiers come and salute each other. During this, on one hand, Indian soldiers raise slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai on the Indian border, while on the other hand, Pakistani soldiers express their patriotism by raising slogans of their country on their border. Now something similar is going to start in Rajasthan as well. In fact, various programs will be organized like Wagah Border on the India-Pakistan Tanot Border in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan.

A complex is being built near Tanot Mata Temple

A complex is also being built for this in the Tanot Mata temple on the Indo-Pak border. BSF will set up documentaries, weapons exhibition and photo gallery in the complex. The tourism department has been trying to promote border tourism for a long time, which is now yielding results.

There will be a parade every evening

Like the Wagah border in Amritsar, Punjab, the BSF’s retreat ceremony will start from next year at Tanot Rai Mata Mandir Complex in Jaisalmer. The work of building an amphitheater is going on in full swing at Tanot. It will have a seating arrangement for 1000 people. There will be a parade here every evening, in which the BSF soldiers will duly take down the tricolor. There will also be camel shows and other programs. Tanot is twenty kilometers away from the Pakistan border. Although unlike the Wagah border, Pakistani Rangers will not be present here, but the rest of the ceremony will be organized like the Wagah border.

The complex is to be completed in a year

BSF Sector North DIG Yogendra Singh Rathore said that under the Border Tourism scheme of the Central Government, Babliyan border post near Tanot was developed for the Retreat Ceremony in 2021. Along with this, many facilities like stadium, watch tower, selfie point were developed here in 2022. The project to start the Retreat Ceremony has been postponed in Babliyan for the time being, in its place Tanot in Jaisalmer has now been chosen. Last year, the Union Tourism Ministry had approved a project of Rs 17.67 crore to build Tanot Complex under Border Tourism, which is to be completed in a year.

The following areas are built inside the complex

According to the information, the engineering wing of BSF has completed more than 70 percent of the work so far. This complex is being built in 4.57 acres. Inside the complex, an amphitheater of 434 square meters, an interpretation center of 686 square meters, a cafeteria of 434 square meters, a VIP block of 183 square meters, souvenir shop, toilet blocks are being developed. Parades and other functions will be held in the amphitheater. The museum will have a gallery of weapons, martyr’s wall, mural wall, children’s recreation area, interaction area, audio-visual system and stage lights. The work of Tanot complex will be completed by the end of this year.
