Jodhpur : Rajasthan’s promising RAS officer Priyanka Bishnoi died during treatment in the month of September. The negligence of the hospital had come to light regarding the death of Priyanka Bishnoi, posted as SDM of Jodhpur. After which a high level committee was formed at the level of the District Collector and then the State Government and orders for investigation were given. The report of the district level committee had come in which the possibility of investigation was expressed. A state level committee was formed on this. But its report has not come out yet. Seeing that the family members are not getting justice, they have approached the court.
Now Jodhpur Metropolitan Magistrate No. 8 has ordered to register an FIR against the doctor of the private hospital. On which a case has been registered in Chaupasni Housing Board police station. RAS Priyanka Bishnoi died on September 19 during treatment in a hospital in Ahmedabad. Before that the operation was done at Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur.
Committee report was not made public
Actually, on September 6, Priyanka Bishnoi had an operation at Vasundhara Hospital in Jodhpur. The next day his health deteriorated during treatment. After this Vishnoi was referred to a private hospital in Ahmedabad. Where he was treated for about 10 days, but his health did not improve. He died on the morning of 19 September. After the death, the family and community members became angry and when the body was not picked up from AIIMS, the District Collector formed a committee of professors from the Medical College of Jodhpur and got the matter investigated. There was no mention of any major negligence on the part of the hospital. When the family members were not satisfied with this, the state government formed a team of senior doctors from Jaipur and Jodhpur AIIMS and got the case re-investigated. The report of this committee has not yet been made public.
Hurt by this, Priyanka’s father-in-law Sahiram Bishnoi appealed to the court that Vasundhara Hospital was negligent in the treatment of his daughter-in-law. During a minor operation, Priyanka suffered a brain hemorrhage and the hospital kept this fact hidden. It was because of this mistake of the hospital that his daughter-in-law died. Considering there were valid reasons in the case, the court ordered the Chaupasni Housing Board police station to register a case, after which the case was registered late on Friday evening.
Police will now investigate
District Collector Gaurav Aggarwal had given instructions to form a high level committee to investigate the complaint of negligence in the treatment of RAS Priyanka Vishnoi. Principal of Dr. SN Medical College had included Dr. Ranjana Desai, Dr. Indu Thanvi, Dr. Vijay Sharma, Dr. Shubhakaran Khinchad and Dr. Naveen Paliwal in the committee to investigate the treatment given at Vasundhara Hospital. Regarding this matter, a petition was filed against the hospital and the doctor in Jodhpur Metropolitan Magistrate No. 8. While hearing the petition on Friday, Jodhpur Metropolitan Magistrate No. 8 has ordered to register an FIR against the doctor of the hospital. Now the police will start investigation in this matter.
