OPJS University distributed fake degrees, revealed in SOG investigation

Jaipur : Fake degrees are being distributed like sweets in some private universities of Rajasthan. SOG ADG VK Singh said that the team investigating the fraud in competitive examinations came to light that out of the applicants in PTI competitive examination 2022, 1336 have claimed to have taken degree from OPJS University. Whereas OPJS University was conducting BPEd course for five years and only 100 students could get degree from here every year. That is, only 500 students got degree in five years. Whereas 1336 had applied. 81 candidates who took degree from OPJS were also selected in government jobs. He said that on the report of SOG, the government has banned admission in OPJS University.

38 cases registered: 38 cases related to examinations have been registered in SOG this year. Out of these, 28 cases are of dummy candidates and other paper leak cases. 32 SHOs have been arrested in the sub-inspector recruitment paper leak case. Among the arrested accused, there are three who were selected in the examination but did not come for training. At the same time, 19 accused are associated with the gang. Four of these accused have been caught by Jodhpur Range Police. The arrested Chammi, being a teacher, used to appear in the examination in place of others by becoming a dummy candidate. Questions are raised on the functioning of the education department. Chammi was wanted in Balotra since 2021 and her attendance was being recorded in the department.

ADG Singh said that 2500 complaints related to competitive exams have been received in SOG and 900 of them are under investigation. Due to this, instead of other organized gangs, the focus is on paper leaks, dummy candidates and those who got jobs with fake degrees. The government has ordered re-verification of those who got government jobs through competitive exams in the last five years. Who appeared in the exam, from where did they get the degree and the records of that college and university should be investigated. Some people have taken a court stay on the departmental investigation. The target is to verify such people and take action in the next five months.
