Dausa : Rajasthan Government had upgraded Lalsot Municipality to Municipal Council. After the formation of the Municipal Council, speculations about adding Didwana Gram Panchayat to the Municipal Council intensified. To which the villagers of Didwana protested.
Villagers say that the biggest gram panchayat of Lalsot assembly constituency is Didwana, which is capable in itself and the development is also very good as compared to other gram panchayats of the area. Adding Didwana to Lalsot Municipal Council will cause more losses than gains. To get small tasks done, people will have to go to Lalsot headquarters, 7-8 kilometers away from here. At the same time, farmers will also have to pay more electricity bills.
Ward Panches told that Gram Panchayat Quorum meeting will be held on 5th December. In which a unanimous decision will be taken not to add the Gram Panchayat to the Municipal Council. He said that Didwana Gram Panchayat has 12000 voters and 22000 population, which fulfills all the criteria to become a municipality. In such a situation, if the government wants to give something, then it should give separate municipal status to Didwana. If Didwana is included in Lalsot Municipal Council, then the villagers of Didwana will protest and will also boycott the upcoming elections, the responsibility of which will also be on the administration.
Didwana Sarpanch Vinod Phulwaria said that Didwana village is a pride in itself and there is no need to add it to any municipality or city council. This will end the existence of the village. He said that if the government wants to give something to Didwana then it should give it the status of a separate municipality.
