Opposition to giving Sriganganagar thermal power plant to joint venture

Sri Ganganagar : Thermal Engineers and Employees Joint Struggle Committee met Devendra Shringi, CMD of Rajasthan State Electricity Generation Corporation Limited (RVUNL) late on Saturday evening on the process of handing over Suratgarh Super Thermal Power Plant to the newly formed joint venture of Central Public Sector Undertakings. Demanded an immediate stop. This meeting was held at the Erector Hostel of the residential colony of Suratgarh Thermal, where the committee submitted the memorandum. Joint Morcha expressed deep objection. Representatives of Sangharsh Committee, Vinod Aadha and Satish Chamola said that in the memorandum, CMD was informed that all the employees, officers and engineers are strongly opposing the inclusion of power plants operated by RVUNL in the joint venture. .

They allege that the employees are not being taken into confidence in this process. This step is not only harming the economic and social interests of the employees and officers, but can also prove to be harmful for the people of Rajasthan. They have been protesting since November 14. Members of the Sangharsh Committee said that they have been continuously protesting at the main gate of the thermal plant since November 14. But till now the administration has not clarified their service conditions. The main demand of the committee is that the process of giving high quality and low production cost thermal power plants to joint ventures should be stopped immediately. It is against the interests of the state and the employees to include such plants, which are making Rajasthan self-reliant in the field of power generation, in a joint venture just on the pretext of lack of funds.

movement warning
The memorandum warned that if the state government and the production corporation administration ignored their demands, the Sangharsh Samiti would be forced to take steps like aggressive demonstrations, serial sit-ins and tool downs. During this time, employees associated with organizations like BMS, INTUC, Pierce, Tiers and DAWC were also present in the meeting.
