Jaipur : the 16th Vidhan Sabha of the state is creating many new histories. The second session of the 16th Vidhan Sabha is going to start from Wednesday. The session may last for about an hour on Wednesday. During this time, condolences will be expressed. BAP MLA Jaikishan Patel, who won the by-election from Bagidora, will take oath. During this session, the Bhajan Lal government of the state will also present its budget. This session will run in two phases. After the session on 3rd and 4th July, it will be adjourned. The session will resume on 10th July. The state government will present the budget on 10th July.
A meeting of the business advisory committee was also held on Tuesday evening under the chairmanship of Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, in which discussions were held on running the session. Devnani also informed in the all-party meeting on Tuesday that answers to 92 percent of the questions asked in the first session called six months ago have been received. This has happened in the Assembly after many years. Earlier, the situation was such that answers to more than 40 to 50 percent of the total questions were not received in the tenure of five years each. Recently, the Assembly Speaker had discussed with the officials and instructed that answers to the questions asked in a session should be received before the next session begins. Its effect was also seen. In the all-party meeting held in the Assembly under the chairmanship of Vasudev Devnani, Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Leader of Opposition Tikaram Julie and leaders of various parties were present. Devnani has appealed for cooperation from all the parties to run the House peacefully. Several suggestions also came up in the meeting, including reintroduction of the system of speaking on slips that was in practice in the House, holding debates on committee reports, bringing important issues to the Speaker’s attention before Zero Hour and maintaining the presence of officials.
Answers to 177 questions are pending
Speaker Devnani said that out of 2054 questions of the first session, answers to 92 percent of the questions have been received by the Vidhan Sabha. Now answers to 177 questions are pending. Devnani said that this is a good sign.
