Udaipur : Rajasthan Forest Department has issued a shoot at site order on Tuesday afternoon to kill the leopard which was hunting 8 people in Udaipur. Three conditions have also been mentioned in this order copy issued from Jaipur headquarters. It is clearly written in it that the first attempt will be to catch the leopard. If he does not get caught in the net, he will be identified and shot. Along with this, it will be necessary to send daily reports to Jaipur headquarters.

The minister had given hints a day ago

A day before, Forest Minister of Rajasthan Government, Sanjay Sharma, in a special conversation with NDTV Rajasthan, had indicated about issuing such orders. He had said that efforts are being made to catch the man-eating leopard. If he is not caught, he can also be ordered to shoot at sight. Because, human life is priceless, hence protecting them is the first responsibility.

What was the reason given for the shooting?

Forest Department said that this leopard has made 8 people its victims in 11 days in Gogunda tehsil area of Udaipur. A committee was also formed to catch him, cages were installed, tranquilizers were used, but except the ‘man-eater’, other leopards got trapped in it. The man-eating leopard is still roaming at large, and it seems difficult to catch it with all these means. After discussing this incident in detail, it has been decided to kill the leopard to save the lives of people.
