Mumbai, November 16 (IANS). ‘All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen’ i.e. AIMIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi extended his support to Maratha reservation in an election rally. Here he also raised the demand for implementing Muslim reservation on the lines of Telangana.
He said, “I will fully support the Maratha leaders in Maharashtra. He is fighting for Maratha reservation. I will support them whenever needed. But I will say one thing, that there is 4 percent reservation for Muslims in our Telangana. Why is it not in Maharashtra? Why is it like this? The reason for this is that our history is not strong. People always make allegations.
Owaisi also expressed his opinion on the taunts being directed at his party for maintaining good relations with the ruling party. Said, first Raj Shekhar Reddy was the Chief Minister, then Chandrashekhar Rao came and joined his team. Now Revanth Reddy of Congress came and then, Akbar and Asad also joined him. Sorry my brother, we do not live with the Chief Minister, he lives with us. Whoever is the Chief Minister, he needs us. If he is not with us, then it will be difficult to rule. We need them, not us. This is the strength, this is the strength of our history.”
He further said, “If someone is a devotee of Ram, then in the same way I am a loving slave of Mohammad and Rasool Allah. I am a lover of the Messenger of Allah and today I stand among his lovers. Referring to the love of the Prophet, I appeal that this is not the time to waste, this is the time to be united, united and free. We all have to gather on a common platform. I swear to God, leave alone competing with us, no one will be able to point a finger at us, the only condition is that we unite.”
