Outbreak of seasonal diseases in Rajasthan, crowd in hospitals, know the figures

Bikaner : due to seasonal diseases, malaria and dengue mosquitoes are giving sleepless nights to the health department as well as the common people. On Friday, a nursing student died of dengue in Karwad village of Kota district. The first case of death due to dengue has come to light in Kota district. Here, the medical department became alert. After dengue and malaria, patients with symptoms like Chikungunya have also started coming to the hospital.

The health department is also quite surprised and troubled by this. However, doctors have started treatment on the basis of symptoms only, so that by the time the report comes, the patient can get some relief. Doctors believe that Chikungunya can spread its spread till December. Therefore, there is a need to take special care of oneself in these intervening months. Although there is no need to admit such patients yet, medicines are being given in view of Chikungunya like symptoms and blood samples are also being taken.

Symptoms seen in hundred patients every day

At present, apart from PBM Hospital, people suffering from seasonal diseases are also coming to doctors’ homes. Apart from giving medicines to all these patients, doctors are advising to get tested for malaria, dengue and chikungunya. According to an estimate, chikungunya like symptoms are seen in 100 patients every day in doctors’ homes including PBM hospital. Malaria and dengue patients have been coming for a long time. Since last one week, patients with chikungunya symptoms have also started coming. In the initial days, doctors were giving medicines to the patients considering it to be a normal viral infection, but after there was no improvement in the health of the patients, they started sending samples for testing for Chikungunya.

They are at greater risk

These include those with more severe disease, including newborns infected at birth, older adults (over 65 years of age), and people with underlying medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or heart disease. Most patients feel better within a week. However, joint pain can be severe and disabling and may persist for months.
