Pali : The gang involved in stealing electric wires is once again active in the subdivision area. Unknown thieves cut and stole five kilometer long wires in Magra area in a single night. The thieves also pulled down many poles. Discom has suffered a loss of lakhs in this incident. After the information, Discom officials reached the spot and registered a case at Raipur police station.
Junior Engineer of the Electricity Department, Dharmanarayan Cheeta said that on Sunday night, thieves cut and stole about five kilometers long 11 KV power line from Pipleshwar Mahadev Temple of Kalab Kalan to Bagri Forest Department Outpost. This line is passing near Raipur to Jassa Kheda road for electricity supply to the villages of Magra area. The shocking thing is that the supply in the power line was in working condition, yet the thieves faulted it and carried out the incident. While cutting the line, many poles were also demolished. The corporation suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees in the incident. Due to the incident, electricity supply to many villages of Magra area was disrupted. The villagers came to know about the incident when the department employees came to find the fault after receiving information about power supply stoppage. Discom officials arrived on information and informed higher officials about the incident. A case has been registered by the department against unknown thieves.
Dozen villages in darkness
Due to power line being cut and stolen, there was power failure throughout the night in many villages of Magra area including Kot, Kirana, Bagdi, Kalaliya, Sirma, and Belpana. On Monday morning, when the lineman arrived to repair the fault in the line, information about the theft was received. Kailash Garg, Assistant Engineer of the Electricity Department, said that the electricity supply to the affected villages was started by connecting temporary electricity supply from nearby villages, which brought relief to the villagers.
