Sri Ganganagar : The first National Style Panchayat Kabaddi Tournament (56 kg category) was successfully concluded at village 6 MSR on behalf of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Yuva Club of Anupgarh. A total of 25 teams from Haryana and Rajasthan participated in this competition. Rajendra Panwar, Harpreet Singh Sekho, Naresh Panwar and Jagdish had the main support for the successful organization of the competition.
The final match of the competition was played between Gogamedi and Village 8A. Gogamedi performed brilliantly and won the title by defeating Village 8A by a huge margin of 39.22. In this match, the collective play and strategy of Gogamedi team was worth watching. In the first semi-final, Gogamedi defeated village Satrana by a margin of 33-21. In the second semi-final, Village 8A defeated 4DJM 24-19.
Anupgarh MLA Shimla Nayak, Subhash Saharan (Sarpanch, Gram Panchayat 6 MSR), and Ganpat Singh (social worker) were present among the chief guests of this competition. All the guests stressed the need for such events for de-addiction and promotion of sports. He said that such events not only save the youth from drugs but also encourage their physical and mental strength.
Honors and Awards Distribution
At the conclusion of the competition, players who performed well were given honor symbols. Winning team Gogamedi was awarded cash ₹5100 and trophy. Runner-up team: Village 8A was awarded ₹4100 and trophy. Individual silver chains and trophies were awarded to the best raider and catcher players. Chhinda 32 wala and builder 6 P. were given special honors in the programme. Rajuram Panwar, Harshdeep Singh Sekhon, Jagroop Solki, and Naresh Panwar made special contributions in making the program successful. The event was moderated by famous commentator Arbaaz Khan. The villagers expressed happiness over the success of this event and promised to organize more such big events in future.
