Parking crisis in Jaipur markets, business affected… jam all day long

Jaipur : Parking problem in the markets of Jaipur Parkote has increased the problems of traders and customers. The cars of the people living on the streets have started getting parked permanently in the main markets. Due to which customers are not getting space to park their vehicles. Traders say that this problem is affecting their business. In major markets like Johari Bazaar, Kishanpole, Chandpole, Chauda Rasta, Tripolia and MI Road, 25 to 100 vehicles are parked permanently. Many vehicles have not moved from their place for one or two months. There is dust accumulated on the vehicles and the tires are deflated.

Irregularities in paid parking, vehicles remain parked throughout the day

There is a provision of paid parking in Johri Bazaar, Chauda Rasta and Kishanpole Bazaar, where the Municipal Corporation issues a tender for parking every year. According to the tender conditions, it is the responsibility of the contractor to remove the vehicle if it is parked for more than two hours. Despite this, due to collusion the vehicles remain parked throughout the day.

400 vehicles identified, preparation for action

We have identified about 400 vehicles permanently parked in the markets. Also held a meeting with the traffic police. These vehicles will be confiscated and parked in the second phase parking of Ram Nivas Bagh.

Kishanpol Market: More than 50 vehicles remain parked for 7 days. Trade Board President Manish Khunteta said that cleanliness and business is being affected due to this.

Chandpol Market: More than 50 vehicles are parked from Chhoti Chaupar to Jayalal Munshi. Trade Board President Subhash Goyal said that many of these vehicles have been standing as they are for months.

MI Road: 25 vehicles have been standing for more than a month. General Secretary Suresh Saini demanded implementation of parking time limit.
