Parvati river in spate, Madhya Pradesh cut off from Rajasthan

Kota : After the explosive entry of monsoon, continuous rain continues in Hadoti as well. Major rivers of Hadoti, Chambal, Parvati, Parvan and Kalisindh, many rivers have started overflowing. Due to the rain in Etawah region for the last two days, the rivers and streams have started overflowing. Due to this, direct contact between Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh has been cut off after a sheet of water of about 2 feet flowed on the bridge of Khatoli Parvati river on NH-70 on Saturday morning. After this, after the closure of traffic on Kota-Sheopur-Gwalior route, now the drivers have to travel to Sheopur and Baroda in Madhya Pradesh by taking a detour of about 100 km via Mangrol. However, the work of the new high level bridge on the Parvati river here is also in the final stage. But the drivers will have to wait as the work is yet to be completed. This time the first rain of monsoon has been tremendous in Etawah region, it has been raining continuously for two days in the area, seven and a half inches of rain has been recorded here in two days. Due to which the inflow of water in rivers and streams is increasing rapidly.

Administration is also on alert in Kota

In view of heavy rains, the administration in Kota is also on alert mode. The district administration team is already engaged in preparations for the people in the low-lying areas adjacent to the Chambal river in case of heavy rains and heavy water discharge from the Kota Barrage Dam. The areas where waterlogging occurs are being identified. Also, teams have been appointed at the local level to inform the places where people will be shifted in case of waterlogging. District Collector Ravindra Goswami has also visited the low-lying areas adjacent to the Chambal river in Kota city along with officials and has given special instructions.

SDRF, Civil Defense and Municipal Corporation teams on alert mode

After the orange alert was issued in Hadoti region, the district administration has put the rescue team on alert mode. The teams have been alerted so that the rescue workers can reach the areas where waterlogging occurs and evacuate the people safely. Along with the SDRF team, the rescue teams of Civil Defense and Municipal Corporation are also on alert mode. Control rooms have been set up in Kota South and North Corporation where employees have been deployed 24 hours. At the same time, the district administration is continuously monitoring the inflow of water on the dams built on the Chambal river. As soon as the water starts flowing out from Gandhi Sagar Maharana Pratap and Jawahar Sagar dams built on the Chambal river, strong security arrangements are being ensured in Kota.
