Lucknow, 25 November (IANS). The way has been cleared for the by-election in Milkipur assembly seat of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The Lucknow bench of Allahabad High Court has approved the withdrawal of the petition filed regarding the by-election.
The advocate said that notice should be given to the entire party and the people contesting the elections. Everyone’s objection should be recorded. We had put everyone on notice. Publication should be done in the newspaper. The court heard our appeal and gave permission to withdraw the petition. Now the Election Commission can conduct elections in Milkipur anytime.
No protest was lodged by Awadhesh Prasad’s lawyer on Monday. Former MLA Baba Gorakhnath said that two petitions have been returned. One was by me, the other by Shivmurti. SP’s lies were exposed. Elections will be held in Milkipur soon. There BJP will register victory with big votes. The people there will not have to worry anymore. Now, there will be development soon.
Former BJP MLA Baba Gorakhnath had filed a petition. In this, he had challenged the election of SP’s Awadhesh Prasad from Milkipur seat in 2022. He said that there are discrepancies in the nomination papers of Awadhesh Prasad. After this he filed an application to withdraw his petition. In this case, on Monday, the Lucknow bench of the High Court approved the withdrawal of the petition. This has cleared the way for Milkipur by-election.
It is noteworthy that by-elections were to be held on 10 assembly seats in UP. But, at the time of by-election announcement, the by-election in Milkipur was stopped due to the petition. The results of the by-elections came on 23 November. In this, BJP supported NDA won seven seats. SP could get only two seats.
