Jaisalmer : CT scan facility in Jaisalmer’s largest district hospital has been closed for 52 days. It was contracted in Government Jawahar Hospital on PP mode. According to the information, the CT scan machine broke down on August 26, after which the testing facility is not available here. Due to closure of CT scan, patients are forced to get tests done in private labs. The price of this CT scan test done at private centers ranges from Rs 2300 to Rs 3800. Due to which patients are facing a lot of trouble. At the same time, the patients who come for treatment in the government hospital have to visit private labs for the reports.
When the company’s bill of Rs 18 lakh was outstanding, the investigation was stopped.
Siddharth Dialysis has been contracted for this test in the hospital. Since the machines installed here are very old, technical faults occur frequently. Besides, the manufacturing of machines of this model has also been stopped. Payment of about Rs 18 lakh is pending for the year 2023-24 of this company. After lakhs of rupees being outstanding, the company has refused to provide testing facility. The company is demanding payment of the dues from the hospital management.
Trauma center patients are facing the most problems
According to the information, at present CT scan of 15 to 20 patients was being done daily in the district hospital. Due to the machine being closed for 52 days, so far around 800 to 950 patients have had to get CT scans done from outside. The biggest problem is being faced by the patients of Trauma Center. Because CT scan examination is one of the most basic facilities for trauma patients. Most of the patients come to the Trauma Center with head injuries and fractures. Before starting the treatment of these patients, it is necessary to do CT scan. Due to lack of CT scan in the hospital, the time of serious patients is being wasted. Hospital PMO Dr. Chandan Singh Tanwar said that earlier the tube of the CT scan machine was damaged, after which the company stopped the work last year until the payment was not made. There has been talk from the higher level about this year’s payment, the system will improve soon.
