Alwar News Desk: The upgradation of the pediatric department of the district hospital was announced in the state government budget. After this, on the instructions of the then Collector, the hospital administration got the estimate of 300 bed G+5 building prepared from RSRDC. The cost was said to be around Rs 100 crore. Now a new estimate has been asked for again citing excess cost in this estimate. For this, an estimate of a 200 bed building has been sought from RSRDC. Rajmes has said that he has not sent a proposal to the Medical College Principal regarding upgrading the Pediatrics Department. Additional Director Hospital Administration Mukesh Kumar Meena has asked the Medical College Principal to prepare a proposal and send it in coordination with the PMO District Hospital. He says that till now no proposal has been sent to Rajmes in this regard. The old one is bad for the last 3 months, while the new one is being built.

In the Pediatrics Department, only 22 beds are approved in the infant ward, whereas in view of the high number of patients, 40 beds have been installed here. On an average 550 OPD and 50 IPD patients come here every day. Before the rain, the plaster of the ceiling in the pediatric ward had fallen. After this, on the night of June 23, six people were injured when roof debris fell on the relatives of pediatric patients sleeping in the OPD hall. A woman’s leg was also broken. After the incident, the PMO immediately visited the hospital along with PWD and RSRDC officials and said that necessary repair work would be done soon.

PWD had also started the work of demolishing the roof of the hospital’s OPD, pediatric ward, women’s ward and the gallery leading to the DDC. But after the announcement of upgrading the Pediatrics Department in the budget announcement, this repair work is remaining as it is. Relatives of patients sleep under the damaged roof. DDC is being conducted in another room. The 20 bed ward is closed and 67 children are admitted on 40 beds.
