Tonk News Desk: The series of thefts is not stopping in Uniara city. Thieves broke the locks of three temples including Shri Charbhujanath Temple on Friday night. There was theft in two of these temples. Jewelery like silver umbrella, flute etc were stolen from the temple. There was also a cupboard kept in the temple, if its lock was broken, jewelery worth lakhs of rupees would also have been stolen. The suspected thieves of the theft in Charbhuja Ji temple are visible in the CCTV cameras installed there. Apart from this, thieves stole some goods from two other temples also.
On the other hand, when this came to light at 7 am on Saturday morning, there was anger among the people. Traders and other people closed the market raising slogans against the police and reached outside Uniyara police station in the morning in the form of a procession. Where the police raised slogans of Murdabad. People sat on strike outside the police station.
People say that even during the elections, lakhs of rupees were stolen. That too has not been found. Now breaking the locks of three temples in a single night is the negligence of the police. After coming to know about this, ASP Brijesh Singh reached the spot and convinced the people to leave the dharna, but the people said that no clue has been found about the earlier thefts. Ultimately ASP asked for 6 days’ time to reveal these thefts. People seemed to agree with this and ended the protest after three hours. ASP says that efforts will be made to catch the thieves from other sources including CCTV footage.
