Sadar police station said that Hansraj, a resident of Thikaria Kala in Umrach village, cut and stole electrical cables from half a dozen fields on Saturday night. He was highly intoxicated at that time. In an intoxicated state, he slept with a bag full of stolen cables in a hut in a farmer’s field in the village itself. In the morning the villagers saw him sleeping in the hut. There was anger among the villagers after seeing the stolen cables with him. They took him to the village. Here he was tied to a tree with a rope and hung upside down. Many people beat him with sticks and rods. After fighting for about ten minutes, someone informed the police. On receiving the information, Sadar police station reached the spot and rescued the youth.
