New Delhi, November 20 (IANS). Delhi Chief Minister Atishi launched ‘Delhi Solar Portal’ on Wednesday. Through this, people in the capital will now be able to avail the benefits of Delhi Solar Policy and the bill of consumers who consume more than 400 units of electricity will also be reduced to zero. From installing solar panels through the portal to getting subsidy from the government, people will be able to get all the facilities through one click sitting at home.
On the occasion of the launch, Atishi said that if any person living in Delhi wants to install solar panels on the roof of his house, then Delhi Solar Portal is a single window solution, on which all the information required for installing solar panels will be available. . Information about empaneled vendors and the cost of installing panels will also be available on the portal and you will be able to get solar panels installed sitting at home. Apart from this, people will also be able to apply for net metering and subsidy from the government through the portal itself without visiting any office.
The Chief Minister said that through the solar calculator available on the portal, people will be able to know how much solar energy can be produced from their rooftop by giving the data of the size of their roof, how many kilowatt panels will have to be installed for it and how much it will cost to install the panels. Delhi Government has always been committed towards adopting clean and pollution-free energy sources. Delhi is the only state in the country which closed all its thermal power plants so that the people living in Delhi do not have to face pollution.
Delhi Government launched Delhi Solar Policy on 14 March 2024. The government aims to meet 25 percent of the energy used in Delhi from solar energy by 2027. For this, the power companies of Delhi will enter into a power purchase agreement for 3,750 MW solar power in the coming three years. Also, 750 MW electricity will be produced through rooftop solar on the roofs of homes and offices. Rooftop solar will be installed on the roof of every building of Delhi government.
Atishi said, “In Delhi, people get free electricity up to 200 units and subsidy up to 400 units. Often the question is, what about those who use more than 400 units of electricity? Delhi Solar Policy is the answer to all their questions. “
He told that through this policy, people can get zero electricity bill even if they consume more than 400 units of electricity. If a person consumes 400 units of electricity and produces 300 units out of it from the solar panel installed on his rooftop, then he will have to pay the bill of only 100 units to the electricity company. Through the portal, consumers installing rooftop solar panels from home will also be able to apply for net metering. Also, people can apply for subsidy from the government through the solar portal itself and they will not have to visit any government office.
CM Atishi said that those who pay electricity bills now will now take money from the government after installing rooftop solar panels. Money will come into their account every month in the form of generation based incentive. I hope that people will actively install solar panels on their rooftops and in the coming years we will definitely achieve our target of producing 750 MW electricity through solar energy.
