People’s eyes became moist after seeing the bodies of the martyrs in the capital, the last rites will be performed today

Jhunjhunu : The bodies of two Rajasthan soldiers who were martyred in an encounter with terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district will reach their native village Jhunjhunu today wrapped in the tricolor. At around 10 am, a convoy of army soldiers will enter Buhana tehsil by road, from where it will reach Bijendra Singh’s village Doomoli Kalan and Ajay Singh Naruka’s village Bhaisavata Kalan. Both the villages are part of the same tehsil, and the distance between them is about 20 KM. After handing over the bodies to the families, the last rites of both the martyrs will be performed today itself.

They were recruited in the army together and were martyred together

Since Tuesday morning, people are reaching the homes of both the martyrs to pay their tributes. There is a huge crowd at the spot right now, which will keep increasing as the day passes. When the bodies of both the martyrs reach the village, thousands of people will gather at one place and pay tribute to the sons of the village with tearful eyes. Bijendra Singh of Khuma Ki Dhani and Ajay Singh Naruka of Bhaisavata Kalan had joined the army together about 8 years ago. Both had been trained together, and now they have been martyred together.

Martyr Bijendra got married in 2019

Martyr Bijendra’s father Ramjilal is a farmer. While his brother Dashrath Singh is employed in the army. Currently, he is posted in Lucknow. Bijendra got married the very next year after joining the army in 2018. He has two children. 4-year-old Vihaan and 1-year-old Kihaan.

Martyr Ajay got married 3 years ago

At the same time, martyr Ajay Singh Naruka got married in 2021. His wife’s name is Shalu Kanwar. The martyr’s father Kamal Singh also retired from 24 Rajput in 2015. His elder brother Karanveer Singh is a doctor at Bathinda AIIMS. While uncle Kayam Singh is also posted in Sikkim in the 23 Rajput Regiment of the Indian Army. He was also awarded the Sena Medal in 2022.

Both the soldiers were about to come home

Both the martyred soldiers were posted in the 10th National Rifles. Ajay Singh Naruka was to come to the village on leave on 18th July. While Bijendra was to come to the village 5 days ago, but he could not come due to the cancellation of leave. During this time, both the soldiers were martyred in an encounter. Till now, 485 brave soldiers of Jhunjhunu district have made the supreme sacrifice for the country’s defense.

The bravery of Jhunjhunu

Statues of martyrs are installed in every village of Jhunjhunu district. Here martyrs are worshipped like gods. Every road in the city is named after martyrs. 485 soldiers of the district have sacrificed their lives for the country so far. 108 soldiers of this district were martyred in the Indo-Pak war of 1971. 19 soldiers were martyred in the Kargil war. While in the wars of 1962 and 1965, soldiers of Jhunjhunu were at the forefront.
