People’s protest over blackbuck hunting case ends, consensus reached on this demand

Sri Ganganagar : Finally, on Wednesday night, a consensus was reached in the blackbuck hunting case in Sri Ganganagar district of Rajasthan. After talks between the administration and the protesters, the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) was suspended (APO) and the forest ranger was suspended awaiting further orders. After giving written orders, the people of the society ended the protest and opened the blockade.

NH-62 remained jammed for 33 hours

After the suspension of DFO Dalip Singh as APO and Ranger Ved Prakash at around 1 AM on Wednesday night, the four-day long protest and highway blockade in the black buck hunting case at Chak 9 DBN in the Suratgarh area of ​​​​Sriganganagar district was ended and National Highway 62, which was blocked for more than 33 hours, was opened at around 2 AM.

Agreement reached after several rounds of talks

Consensus was not reached in the several rounds of talks held on Wednesday, due to which Sangharsh Samiti member and National Bishnoi Mahasabha President Devendra Budia continued the protest. However, the district administration showed seriousness and called the Sangharsh Samiti for talks again. At 12 midnight, in the talks held under the leadership of Sangharsh Samiti member Amit Kadwasra and National Bishnoi Mahasabha President Devendra Budia and BJP leader Rakesh Bishnoi, consensus was reached on the demand of APOing DFO Dalip Singh and suspending Ranger Ved Prakash.

There will be no FIR against those who staged a sit-in

At around 1 o’clock in the night, District Collector Lokbandhu and SP Gaurav Yadav reached among the wildlife lovers and asked them to end the protest and gave them a copy of the order, after which the protest was called off. National Bishnoi Mahasabha President Devendra Budhiya said that the struggle of wildlife lovers has been won. A complaint will also be filed against the DFO and the forest ranger. He said that there was an agreement not to register a case against the people protesting. The administration heaved a sigh of relief after the protest ended.
