Bhilwara : Bijolia PHED department has launched a campaign and recovered Rs 2.5 lakh out of the outstanding water consumption bills of Rs 67 lakh. At the same time, 8 tap connections of defaulter consumers have also been disconnected in three days.
JEN Ram Prasad Dhakad of Water Supply Department said – There are about three and a half thousand tap connections in Bijolia town. According to departmental records, there is an outstanding of about Rs 67 lakh on water bills in the town. These days a campaign is being run to recover the outstanding amount of water usage from domestic consumers. Consumers are being informed about their outstanding bills by visiting their homes. They are being asked to deposit the amount in three days. After the expiry of the time period, the tap connections are being disconnected.
About 8 tap connections have been disconnected in three days. During this period an amount of Rs 2.5 lakh has also been recovered. Under the campaign, department employees are going door to door to recover the amount from defaulter consumers. There are some consumers in the town whose bills have not been deposited for years.
JEN Ram Prasad says that if anyone interferes in the departmental work while cutting the tap connection, a case will be registered against him in the police. This campaign will continue further also.
