Pitru Paksha starts today, know the dates, rules and methods of performing Shradh

Jodhpur : The Shradh Paksha of paying respects to our departed ancestors will begin from Tuesday. During the Shradh Paksha, tarpan will be performed at the city’s Padmasar, Kaylana, Gaddi and other water bodies. According to Pt. Kamlesh Kumar Dave and Dhirendra Dave of Kila Road Mahadev Amarnath, the Shradh is performed on the same day as the date of the deceased person in the Pitru Paksha. According to Pt. Anish Vyas of Jodhpur, the Shradh Paksha will continue till Kartik Krishna Amavasya, 2 October. Similarly, tarpan will be performed from Tuesday at Datta Sarovar in Gaddi, the place of penance of Shiv Dutt Maharaj, under the guidance of Gopi Kishan Bora ‘Ustad’ and Rajendra Vyas ‘Palji’. In this, the first shift will be performed at 6:30 am, the second shift at 7:15 am and the third shift at 8 am. The necessary material for the tarpan will be available at Datta Sarovar from the ashram.

18 September – Pratipada Shradh
19 September – Dwitiya Shradh
20 September – Tritiya Shradh
21 September – Chaturthi Shradh
September 22 – Panchami Shradh
September 23 – Shashthi Shraddha till 1.50 pm, later Saptami.
September 24 – Saptami till 12.39 pm, later Ashtami.
September 25 – Ashtami till 12.11 pm, later Navami.
September 26 – Navami till 12.25 pm, later Dashami.
September 27 – Dashami till 1.20 pm, later Ekadashi.
September 28 – Ekadashi, till 2.50 pm.
29 September – Dwadashi Shraddha: On this day Sanyasi Shraddha will also be performed.
30 September – Trayodashi Shraddha
October 1 – Chaturdashi Shraddha
2 October – Sarva Pitru Amavasya
