Jhalawar : Jhalawar Khanpur The process for construction of a bus stand started twice in the last two decades in the town. Budget was also given for this and land was also selected but the bus stand has not been built yet. At one place it was partially constructed but till date buses have not started running from there. People have been facing inconvenience for almost 20 years. Both times the construction of bus stand in the town with the amount of lakhs given from MP and MLA funds went in vain. Here in the year 2004, 14 bighas of government land was purchased by the Gram Panchayat in Mahavir Colony on Baran Road and given to the Roadways Depot for the construction of a bus stand.
After this, Rs 10 lakh was given from the MP fund for the construction of the bus stand. With this amount, booking window, verandah and 5 shops in front were constructed. At the same time, 80 feet wide CC road was constructed from Baran Road to the bus stand, but due to factionalism and political tussle, the bus stand could not be operated till date. Due to this, 14 bighas of land has been encroached upon by land mafia. They even planned and sold the plots illegally. Besides, the entire building built for the bus stand is in ruins and is on the verge of collapse. People from the surrounding colony dug out even the stones from the walls. Even the foundation stone plaque installed for the construction work was broken and taken away. The 5 shops built in front of the verandah are filled with straw by unknown people. At the same time, other people have encroached and captured the 80 feet road till the bus stand. Despite this, the Panchayat and administration do not pay any attention to this.
Only boundary wall was built in seven years
In view of the burning problem of the central bus stand in the town, the then BJP government in the year 2017 hurriedly identified 3 bighas of land on the Mega Highway Bypass as government land and handed it over to the Roadways Depot. For the construction of bus stand here, it was announced to give Rs 20 lakh from MP Fund, Rs 10 lakh from MLA Fund and Rs 30 lakh by Goyal Protein Group, but in the last 7 years, only boundary wall has been constructed in the name of construction through the Public Works Department. Here, during the construction, the iron gates installed on the main wall of the boundary wall were also stolen by unknown persons. Informed sources said that due to the government and administration not allotting the land identified for the bus stand to the roadways, it has not been operationalized even after 7 years.
most buses closed
Due to lack of facilities in the town and encroachment all around on the roads in the main markets, roadways buses are facing problems for a long time. Due to this, 70 percent of the roadways buses passing through here were stopped in the last decade. Due to this, common people and passengers are facing huge problems. Apart from Chandkhedi-Tijara, Jaipur-Chandkhedi, Hindon-Chandkhedi, Baran-Indore, Baran-Udaipur, Aklera-Delhi, Chandkhedi-Delhi, which operate via Khanpur, many buses running from Kota to Khanpur, Baran to Jhalawar have been closed. These days, one or two buses operate from Khanpur to Kota throughout the day. In such a situation, travelers coming to Chandkhedi from remote areas have to come by private means.
Temporary bus stoppage for two decades
For the last two decades, there have been temporary bus stops on different routes for roadways buses in the town. On these, the bus stops for some time and leaves after boarding the passengers. Here, there are temporary bus stoppages at Dahikheda intersection on Mega Highway, old bus stand on Sarola Road, agricultural produce market on Baran Road and in front of Kalitalai Balaji. Due to encroachment in the markets of the town, the buses passing through here also pass through the bypass. In such a situation, to board the buses, passengers have to travel two kilometers away from their homes carrying their luggage on their shoulders.
