New Delhi, December 9 (IANS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday wished senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi on her birthday.
Prime Minister Modi said in his post on social media platform X, “Congratulations to Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. I pray for his long life and good health.”
Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge also congratulated Sonia Gandhi on her birthday.
He posted on his social media X handle and said, “Happy birthday to Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi. A true champion of the rights of the marginalized, an epitome of utmost grace, dignity and courage amidst adversity, her contribution to public life has inspired millions. I wish him a long and healthy life.”
Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav congratulated Sonia Gandhi on her birthday. He wrote on X, “Hearty congratulations and eternal best wishes to Sonia Gandhi on her birthday.”
Senior Congress leader KC Venugopal also wished Sonia Gandhi on her birthday.

He further added, “Despite the immense sacrifices he made, his unique contribution to India is an inspiration to millions of people across the world. “His guidance during the years of good governance under the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh played a vital role in India’s journey of development after independence.”
He further said, “Despite facing persistent opposition, he has shown great wisdom and commitment in his public service. “His support and vision remain a great source of strength for our party.”
Sonia Gandhi turned 78 on 9 December. She has been holding the responsibility of top leadership of Congress for the last three decades.
