Ajmer : Police has arrested three robbers who looted HDFC Bank ATM in Gandhinagar police station area of ​​Ajmer. The arrested accused had carried out the robbery by cutting the ATM machine with a gas cutter. Police said that the accused learned the method of cutting the ATM machine with gas from YouTube. At present, the police is engaged in recovering the equipment used in the crime and the money looted.

Robbers caught from car and CCTV footage

SP Devendra Kumar Vishnoi said that the footage of the CCTV camera installed at the ATM booth on the intervening night of 13 and 14 August 2024 was checked. Not only this, the luxury car in which the robbers had escaped was also identified. After examining the CCTV footage and its identification, three robbers from Haryana and Rajasthan were arrested. The arrested robbers were identified as Jan Mohammad, a resident of Haryana, Sajid of Deeg police station area of ​​​​Rajasthan and Rashid, a resident of Alwar.

The crime was committed in just 8 minutes

During police interrogation, the three robbers told that they learned to cut the ATM machine using a gas cutter from YouTube and then carried out the crime. The big thing is that the cunning criminals carried out the entire crime in just 8 minutes and fled. The robbers also told that before carrying out the ATM robbery, they made friends with the people living and shopkeepers around the crime scene and did a recce of the ATM.

Police busy in recovering the looted money

After that, they committed the crime. Sajid and Rasheed connected the oxygen cylinder and gas cylinder to a gas cutter and kept the gas under control and committed the crime by cutting the ATM. Police said that efforts are on to recover the equipment used to rob the ATM and the looted money from the three robbers. Police is also searching for other accused involved in the ATM robbery. Many other crimes are likely to be revealed from the accused. The accused will be presented in court tomorrow.
