Jhunjhunu : There is news of police beating up Kanwariyas in two districts of Rajasthan who had come out to offer water brought from the pilgrimage to Lord Bholenath on the Monday of Sawan. Police lathicharged Kanwariyas in Jaipur and Jhunjhunu and adopted a wrong attitude towards them. Now, protests have started outside the police station in this matter. It is said that Kanwariyas have made big preparations for the protest.

Actually, there is a holy pond in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan, which is known as Lohagargal. After taking bath in this pond, the Kawadias bring holy water and offer it to Lord Shiva. Gothra police station officer Kamlesh Kumar, who reached the spot, said that there are two ponds in Lohagargal. Both of them are Janana and Mardana ponds. Voices of men were coming from Janana pond near women and there was a lot of crowd in Mardana pond as well. Due to this, chaos was spreading. The incident happened at 1:00 in the night. The police that went to the spot was insufficient, so the police asked everyone to leave the pond. Some people objected and misbehaved with the police. In return, the police also beat some boys with sticks. A dispute arose on this matter, the Kawadias vandalized the area around the pond and after that they came to the main market and vandalized some vehicles. After this entire incident, no case has been registered in Gothra police station at the moment. But people are angry with the use of force by the police.

When people reached the police station to protest against this, the Kanwariyas were beaten up again. Actually, last night the Kanwariyas were taking out the Kavad Yatra while playing a DJ. The police confiscated the DJ and took it to the police station. When they went to the police station to take their DJ, the policemen beat them up again. To protest against this, a team of Kanwariyas reached the police station at 10 am today and sat on a dharna. Meanwhile, the leaders of the opposition party have demanded the immediate dismissal of the police personnel who beat them up and that they should be arrested and a case should be filed against them.
