Jodhpur : Jodhpur: There was a clash between the protesting students and the policemen deployed for security to stop the students protesting outside the central office of Jai Narain Vyas University demanding student union elections. When the students tried to forcefully push the police and enter inside, the police lathi-charged the agitating students and drove them away.
There was a stampede among the students demanding student union elections, in such a situation the police took more than half a dozen students into custody. Students are protesting in Jodhpur as well as in the state for holding student union elections. On Monday, student leaders and their supporters demonstrated vigorously outside the central office of Jai Narayan Vyas University demanding to hold student union elections today.
The protesting students demanded the administration of Jai Narain Vyas University (JNVU) and the Rajasthan government to conduct elections soon. The protesting students said that if the student union elections are not held soon, then all the students of the state including Jodhpur will come out on the streets and protest, for which the government will be responsible. In view of the protest of the students demanding student union elections, police force was deployed outside the central office of JNVU.
During this time, the police had put up barricades to stop the protesting students. During this time, the angry students protesting for the demand of student union elections climbed the gate of the central office and tried to force their way inside. The police was stopping the students from going inside, while the protesting students lay down on the ground and started protesting.

Demonstrations were also held in Jaipur regarding this, while earlier in Jodhpur, a demonstration was also held at the central office of Jai Narayan Vyas University by Sui and ABVP demanding early student union elections.
