Police officer fined Rs 1000 for not serving Barmer warrant

Barmer : Additional District and Sessions Judge No. 2 Barmer has punished the concerned police station officer and constable for not serving a fourteen year old case. According to the case, the police station officer was sent to Gida police station to serve the warrant issued in the name of the witness in the pending session case 37/2011 Government vs. Chimaram etc. But for not serving the said warrant on the scheduled date of hearing, a show cause notice was issued to SHO Devaram of the concerned police station Gida, District Balotra. Considering the reply of the police station officer as unsatisfactory, a show cause notice was issued to the police station officer and the concerned constable Shambhuram, considering it to be a violation of the court’s orders.

While conducting the final hearing on the above proceedings, the presiding officer of the court, Piyush Choudhary RHJS, found that as per the instructions of the Honorable Rajasthan High Court, the witness warrant sent to the concerned police station for speedy disposal of old cases was deliberately not served and it was deliberately not served on the due date. Was not presented in court. On which the judge punished Gida Police Station Officer Devaram and Constable Shambhuram, who served the witness, with a fine of Rs 1,000 each. In case of non-payment of fine, both will have to undergo simple imprisonment for one month each.
