Kota : Kota District Excise Department team has raided an illegal beer bar in the city’s shopping center Furniture Market area. The team has seized 14 bottles of Haryana-made liquor, 46 Rajasthan-made beer and 5 English liquor bottles from the spot. Lava Kitchen and Bar operator Karan Ahuja has been arrested on the spot. Under the leadership of District Excise Officer Bhanwar Janagal, Excise Officer Atul Agre, EPF Jabta along with Excise Inspector Vipin Meena were present.
District Excise Officer Bhanwar Janagal and Excise Officer Atul Agre said that information was received that a bar is being operated illegally under the guise of a restaurant in the furniture market in Gumanpura area. On which the team reached the spot around 6 pm. A bar was being operated illegally on the top (fourth floor) of the building. During interrogation it was revealed that the operator had a food license. The bar did not have a license. This bar was being operated since the time of Diwali. The team has seized 14 bottles of English liquor made in Haryana, 46 beers of Rajasthan and 5 bottles of English liquor from the spot. A case has been registered under the Excise Act and the caretaker/director Karan Ahuja found on the spot has been arrested.
