Ghaziabad, 30 November (IANS). A delegation of SP MPs going from Delhi to Sambhal was stopped by the UP Police near the UP-Delhi border. Due to this, there was a jam several kilometers long.
Samajwadi Party MP from Muzaffarnagar and Harendra Malik, who was part of the SP delegation, was stopped at the UP gate. While going to Sambhal from Delhi, Muzaffarnagar MP Harendra Malik was stopped at Ghazipur border on Delhi Meerut Expressway. Due to this, long traffic jams were seen. Along with this, Sambhal MP Zia ur Rehman Vark and Rampur MP Mohibullah Nadvi have also been stopped at Delhi-Ghazipur border.
Police were deployed in large numbers on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway and as soon as the SP MPs reached there, their vehicles were stopped. The police checked each vehicle and allowed it to move ahead. Due to this, there was a jam several kilometers long. The policemen told Muzaffarnagar SP MP Harendra Malik that he was not allowed to go further. The position will be cleared only after the arrival of ACP.
On this occasion, MP Harendra Malik said that this is the arbitrariness of the ruling party. Due to this they are being stopped from going ahead. Any person can go anywhere. He said that he will definitely be careful and if the police stops him, he will take the next step within the ambit of the law. At present the MPs have had to return to Delhi after staying for a long time. He has said that he will definitely raise this issue in Parliament on Monday. There was a traffic jam of several kilometers during their stoppage.
