Poor construction exposed in Rajasthan, road caved in, chaos ensued

Udaipur : The road built over the drain suddenly collapsed on Wednesday night in front of Lake City Mall on Aayad Sriniketan Marg. Despite a big pit on the spot, it was a matter of luck that people were saved from falling and no major accident occurred. Exposing the poor quality construction material, people made photos and videos of this deep pit in the middle of the road till late night and made them viral on social media. Meanwhile, the police closed the one-way road from Aayad culvert to Durganursery square. It is being told that the Municipal Corporation had constructed this road only six months ago. There is a deep drain at the place where the pit occurred. The sewage of the city and Shaktinagar area flows into this drain and falls into the Aayad river. Eyewitnesses told that in the morning itself, a part of the road had sunk at two places, there was a cement slab between the two pits, due to which many drivers were getting unbalanced between the pit and the cement slab, many narrowly escaped from falling. Throughout the day, many people who lost control due to this pothole also informed the traffic police personnel standing at the intersection, but they too ignored it. By late night, as soon as any heavy vehicle passed through here, the entire portion of the road caved in. During that time, people coming from behind narrowly escaped falling into it.

After the road was damaged, the police deployed soldiers at Aayid culvert and Durganursery and closed the one-way road by putting up barricades on both sides. When vehicles passed from the other end of the culvert, many people got down and took photos and videos of the potholes and made them viral with comments.

Roads got damaged in many places due to few drops of rain

Monsoon rains have not even arrived yet and in just a few drops of rain, the road has been damaged at many places apart from potholes outside Lake City Mall. Asphalt has been uprooted at many places. It has not been even six months since this road was built but the corporation, UDA and PWD have not even inspected it.
