According to the official, at present, awareness of aquatic life conservation in the Yangtze River is increasing, fish resources have been rapidly restored, aquatic biodiversity has improved, and habitat restoration work is continuously progressing.

Monitoring shows that in the year 2023, the average resource quantity per unit at the monitoring points in the mainstream of the Yangtze River reached 2.1 kg, there are 227 species of fish and 14 species of aquatic wildlife with national key protection in the river basin, all three numbers There are 16.7 percent, 34 and 3 species more respectively compared to the year 2022.
