In fact, after the death of former royal family member Mahendra Singh Mewar and Tilak Dastur, his son Vishwaraj Singh reached the City Palace on Monday for Dhuni darshan. The palace is under the control of his uncle Arvind Singh’s Maharana Mewar Charitable Trust. In such a situation, Vishvaraj and his supporters did not get entry. There was commotion here for about 6 hours. Stone pelting took place. Many people were injured.
Now Vishvaraj said that he does not want to disturb the peace in the city. In such a situation, on Wednesday he will go to Eklingji temple for darshan. This temple is also under the control of the trust. There is every possibility of a dispute arising there also. From security point of view, Collector Arvind Poswal has imposed Section 163 (old Section 144) in Ghantaghar and Surajpol police station areas of the city on Tuesday night. Let us tell you that after the coronation ceremony in Chittor on Monday, Vishvaraj had to have darshan of Dhuni Mata in the palace. As the controversy escalated, the administration seized the road leading from Badi Pol in City Palace to Dhuni and Zanana Mahal and the Dhuni place late on Monday night.
Curfew like situation from Jagdish Chowk to Palace, roads closed
Eklingji Temple located in Kailashpuri is included in the Maharana Mewar Charitable Trust. On Sunday, a general notice was issued by the Trust prohibiting unauthorized entry into this temple. In such a situation, there is a possibility of dispute regarding the darshan of Vishwaraj Singh here also. People have been having darshan amid police deployment for two days. Heavy police administration remained deployed outside both the gates of City Palace since Tuesday morning. The roads leading to the palace are closed since Monday morning. There was curfew like situation from Jagdish Chowk to Palace. The beginning of Jagdish Chowk and the road outside the Palace has been closed by installing barricades and nets. All the roads on this route have also been closed. All the shops here are also closed for two days. There are maximum number of handicraft shops and restaurants here, they have suffered losses worth lakhs.
Society’s support for Vishwaraj
A delegation led by Mewar Kshatriya Mahasabha Sansthan President Balu Singh Kanawat met Collector Arvind Poswal and SP Yogesh Goyal on Tuesday. A demand was made for permission to visit Eklingnath and Dhuni. The General Assembly has warned that if the demands are not met quickly, social and religious resentment could increase. On the other hand, National President of Menaria Samaj, Dheeraj Paneri and members of the society also reached Samor Bagh and handed over a letter of support to Vishwaraj Singh. A large number of youth of the society will be together during Ekling Nath Darshan on Wednesday.
