Jalore : Jalore: A helicopter survey is being conducted by the Geological Survey of India under the Ministry of Mines of the Central Government in view of the possibility of mineral reserves in Sirohi district. About seven years ago, the department had conducted several surveys in the country. During the aerial survey conducted to find mineral reserves at the place, the hope of having mineral reserves in Sirohi district was raised. Potential mineral reserves are expected at other places including Abu Road and Pindwara in the district. Helicopter survey is now being conducted to gather accurate information about the quantity and type of mineral reserves in both these areas. This survey will run for about 15 days. A team of more than 10 officers and employees of the department is busy ascertaining the mineral reserves and its quantity. They are hopeful of good results.
Advanced TDEM and Magnetic Sensors in Helicopter
The Geological Survey of India (GSI) has launched an advanced heliborne time domain electromagnetic (TDEM) and magnetic geophysical survey funded by the National Mineral Exploration Trust (NMET) of the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, the institute official said. It is a detailed follow-up survey of the National Airborne Geophysical Mapping Program (NAGMP) conducted at Block-1. In this survey, advanced TDEM and magnetic sensors fitted in helicopter have been used. Through which high resolution data will be collected on 1429 km flight lines while surveying an area of 198 square km. The survey is conducted at a flight line interval of 150 meters and a tie line interval of 1500 metres. In which the sensors work at a height of 40 meters from the ground. A similar survey will be conducted by the department in this block of Rajasthan as well as in the states of Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Karnataka. In which a total area of 3 thousand 354 square kilometers will be covered in ten different blocks.
