Dholpur : Two national highways are emerging from the busy Jagdish intersection of Dholpur city. Of these, one goes towards Bharatpur and the other via Karauli and leaves Lalsot via Sarmathura. On this National Highway number 11B passing through Sarmathura, a stretch of about half a kilometer near the city has become a problem for the drivers. After more than a year, NHAI has not taken care of this damaged part of the highway. However, let us tell you that after Diwali, the agency had repaired the damaged road on this highway but forgot to repair this piece. A large number of vehicles from outside the city pass through the road, which have to face problems. On the other hand, NHAI says that the repair work was abandoned due to rain, which will be completed soon.
Potholes are causing trouble on NH 44 too: Similarly, potholes on the national highway Agra-Mumbai have also troubled the common people. Due to potholes, a fast moving vehicle suddenly jumps, which puts the driver in trouble. Potholes in the service lanes of NH have also become a problem for the drivers. Here on Rajkheda bypass, the agency filled the potholes on one side but left them on the road on the other side. Due to which the city residents have to move hesitantly. Similarly, while going towards Maniyan, potholes have become a cause of trouble.

There has been a continuous problem of waterlogging for some time along the NH 11B near Jagdish Tirahe. During the rainy season, there was waterlogging on the roads and some vehicles got stuck in potholes and became victims of accidents. When the situation worsened, District Collector Srinidhi BT got the encroachments on the drains removed but after that no agency took any notice. The city council says that the drain on the highway side belongs to NHAI. At the same time, NHAI was initially seen in action but now it is also lying silent. Here, even the soil dumped on the road by shopkeepers during the rainy season has not been completely removed.
3 national highways pass through the district
Three national highways pass through Dholpur district. In this, the country’s longest national highway NH 44 passes through the district, which starts from Chambal bridge towards Madhya Pradesh and goes till Baritha towards Agra. Similarly, National Highway 123 going towards Uncha Nagla of Bharatpur also originates from Dholpur. This highway connects to UP and Haryana.
