Pratapgarh : Pratapgarh The construction of the newly constructed 33 KV GSS near the cremation ground at Gram Panchayat Headquarters Karju is not being done smoothly even after being almost completed. The construction work of GSS has been completed several days ago, but now the ribbon cutting is awaited. In such a situation, the farmers of the area are not getting the benefit of this GSS. In this regard, the villagers have been demanding many times from the government representatives and government officials to start GSS. It is being told that the construction work of GSS has been completed. An employee has also been appointed on behalf of the corporation. Whereas due to non-payment of newly created GSS to the contractor, the contractor has not handed over the GSS to the corporation.
Villages will get benefits
At present, electricity supply for agricultural irrigation and domestic purposes is being supplied from the GSS of Satola village from nearby places including Gram Panchayat Karju, Pooja Ki Bhagal, Mala Ki Bhagal, Karju New Population, Rural Area of Karju, but at Satola GSS. Due to heavy load there are frequent power interruptions. Due to which farmers are facing losses in farming. If the newly created GSS is started, farmers can get great relief. Due to lack of regular three-phase lighting here, the crops sown in Rabi season are drying up. At many places, plowing is being done for Rabi season crops and sowing work is being done at many places. In such a situation, farmers are facing financial loss due to non-availability of three-phase lighting. This time, due to the delay in issuing the guidelines of opium policy by about one and a half months, sowing is getting delayed. Farmers are facing more problems due to not getting adequate electricity.
A total contract of about Rs 33 lakh was given to the concerned contractor for the construction of 33 GSS. The construction work of GSS has also been completed by the contractor. The work of laying the power lines coming out of GSS has also been completed. According to the contractor, as per the tender only Rs 16 lakh has been paid so far.
