Pratapgarh: 6 bookies arrested for betting online, 25 mobile phones seized

Pratapgarh News Desk: In Pratapgarh, police took major action against bookies and arrested 6 bookies who were betting online. The police have seized betting accounts worth lakhs of rupees and many electronic devices including 25 mobile phones from their possession. All the bookies are residents of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh.

Kotwali police station officer Deepak Banjara said that information was received through an informer that online betting business was going on in a house in Housing Board Colony. When the information was confirmed, the police team reached the Housing Board house with a search warrant and found 6 people doing online betting business. Police have recovered 25 mobiles, laptops, computers, calculators and many betting instruments from their possession. Police have seized betting registers and papers worth lakhs of rupees from the spot. An SUV car has also been seized from the spot.

Banjara told that all the bookies doing betting business are residents of Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh and were running this business by using fake SIM in mobile. Police have registered a case against him under Gambling Act, fraud and other sections and arrested him. The police is busy in finding out his entire network related to betting business.
