Pratapgarh News Desk: On Wednesday, the court announced the punishment after the completion of the hearing in the case of murder of an elderly man by entering his house 7 years ago in Pratapgarh. Sessions Judge Omi Purohit found Bharat and Rooplal, residents of Narayan Kheda, guilty in this case and punished them with life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000. However, Rooplal died in jail during the hearing.
Public Prosecutor Tarun Das Bairagi said that 7 years ago, on May 23, 2017, Premabai, a resident of Narayan Kheda, lodged a case in Dhamotar police station that last night, Rooplal and Bharat, residents of the same village, came drunk and entered the house and started saying That we will force your husband Udaylal into the drug trade and take him away. When my husband came, both of them started dragging him, when my father-in-law Dhannalal came to rescue me, Rooplal hit him on the head with a stick and both of them beat up my husband and ran away, in the attack my husband and father-in-law were injured. After which Dhanna died during treatment.
The police had arrested Rooplal and Bharat in this case, since then the matter was under consideration in the court. After completion of the hearing today, Sessions Judge Omi Purohit declared the punishment to Ruplal and Bharat, holding them guilty in the murder of a 70-year-old man. However, Rooplal died during the hearing.
The session judge sentenced Bharat to life imprisonment and a fine of Rs 50,000 and ordered him to be sent to jail. In the entire case, 18 witnesses and 30 documents were presented before the court by the prosecution.
